認識一個新單字 大腿肉英文怎麼講

晚上還是想試試能不能做出醉雞來
還好我的房子離購物區很近
我去Sprout買 這個店名是發芽的意思 (其實也是查出來認識他沒有多久)
至於為什麼叫做Sprout 我就不管了 反正就是念就是了

進去衝到肉品區 原則上 我是按圖索驥法
我才不管怎麼講 看到就認識了 不是嗎?

昌林說 這邊的雞腿肉 棒棒腿 雞腳 都屬於dark meat 就是美國人不吃的
美國人只吃雞胸肉 所以dark meat 就很便宜
我猜原因是他們要用刀叉吃，可是這些部位用刀叉很難用 所以懶得吃了

我看到我的目標雞腿肉 可是它七八片包成一大包 又不是寫chicken leg
看起來很像 卻又有點不一樣 英文寫著Thighs
我想 還是打電話確認好了
撥了通電話給昌林
「喂！昌林，我要做醉雞啦！需要買雞腿肉，這邊有個東西，拼T-h-i-g-h，我不知道是不是耶」
「T-h-i-g-h，對啊!就是thigh啊! (念做賽，但是舌頭要讓牙齒咬著唸出ㄙ的音)」
「我說，你才要買賽ㄌㄟ!我說真的啦!到底是不是!」
「T-h-i-g-h就唸做賽啊!」
我們倆就都笑了!!
對! 這邊的「賽」，八片只要賣三元，相當於台幣一百元有找!!

不同的紅綠燈

到美國開車 我已經闖過兩次紅燈了

在台灣 都是直行綠燈先亮 等直行車走完 再亮紅燈 允許左轉車走
結果我在這邊 一看到綠燈亮了 就不管三七而十一 就踩了油門了
沒想到 對面車道左轉的車都嚇壞了 我怎麼衝過來了
我自己也嚇一跳 怎麼沒有別的車跟我一樣開過來
既然開了過來 就硬開過去吧

第二次 又做了一樣的傻事

好 沒有第三次了 我已經忍住了!! 不會再燈亮就踩油門了!!

笑話一則

昨天晚上買了一瓶乳液，買大送小，只要七元，大概是台幣塊三百元左右，心裡想還蠻便宜的啊!還是Aveeno的喔

在家用大瓶，出外用小瓶，真方便!!
晚上睡覺前抹在臉上，覺得好油喔!怎麼塗不開，心裡覺得奇怪，但我猜，大概是美國的牌子跟台灣的不太一樣吧!
可是要睡覺的時候，還是覺得怪，怎麼這麼乳液皮膚不吸收的!!
今天早上起來洗完臉，覺得好滑喔!覺得這瓶乳液蠻有效的! 讓皮膚蠻滑的!可是洗完臉後，覺得臉又更乾跟更緊繃了，就再抹一次乳液。還是覺得濃得化不開，所以想加點水，看看會不會比較順一點。沒想到一加水抹在臉上，竟然出現泡泡，當下我想著，也對啦!乳液碰到水，應該是會有這種泡泡產生，所以更加緊在臉上塗開。可是越塗泡泡越多，我心裡想，這該不會不是乳液吧!

趕緊跑回房間看，一看把我自己笑死了!!!


昨天買的時候，只注意到上面的英文是Daily Moisturizing 沒有注意到下面那一行小字
BODY WASH
天哪! 我敷了沐浴乳在臉上一整夜!!!
跟昌林夫婦說，他們也笑翻了! 昌林說，這真的有效，今天我的臉看起來更白了!! 哈哈哈!!

結果，我花了七元買到一瓶小瓶的Lotion 真是太好笑了啊!!

Almost one week in USA and the first 2 days in the office

Even it’s the 2nd day that I start to work in the MUS office, I am really very busy.
Yesterday, I spend some time on making a list includes allon-hand projects.
And clarify the due date and duty and co-work model with Brian.
Today, I spend all day on dealing with NDA stuff and VIP project.
There are 2 projects needed us to release BOM, one is for fire system and the other one is for power plant. So we need to work with NDA. I spend a lot of time to communicate with QMC to see how to protect our company asset bit also take care of customer’s demand.
And I spend a lot of time talking to customer which is a very big project!!
To type this is to avoid that I might forget what did I do then I cannot tell how did I spend my time well.
I feel it’s very strange, to work here in USA makes me easily feel tired.
Just don’t know why. Is it because I need to speak in English all day long?
Or I still have problem with jet-leg?
Or I do have too much sport with Charles at the night time?
I need to figure it out or I need to buy some energy drink to help me.
Now I drink 2 cups of coffee a day which is I never done before. Without the coffee, especially after lunch, I almost cannot work.

People here are so nice. They take care of me and help me a lot. I really feel so warm here.

看見我在美國的第一個家 真感動

美國分公司幫我租了一間公寓，大概室內有15坪吧
今天終於房子準備好，家具也都搬進去，下午HR Judy帶我去交屋
東西都在昌林車上，感謝Eddie送我一台電視

昌林幫我搬東西上樓 我住在二樓
我也搬自己的行李上去

進房間後 真的好驚訝喔

床 沙發 麻將桌(其實應該是餐桌) 廚具 烤箱 微波爐 　全都是新的
床可是Queen Size 的喔


沙發全新的 昌林坐得可舒服了


HR Judy 正在幫我拆東西 菜刀 鍋鏟 湯匙 洗碗精 菜瓜布 抹布 一應俱全


看看小陽台 大小剛好把餐桌搬出來 可以打麻將了 我先坐下來休息一下吧

怎麼可以為一個新人 用心到這種程度呢!!! 怎麼可以對我這麼好!! 很溫暖!!

其實說到家的感覺 我在昌林家 就有家的感覺喔

3rd day in USA and 1st day to MUS office

I work whole day with jet-leg, the day becomes very long. :-)

Last night, we went to play rocketball and Charles said if I work out very hard then it can help me to sleep well. But, I still woke up at 3AM and cannot sleep again. I kept awake till 6AM to call my family and then I went out to practice Taichi for a while. Then I had my breakfast very fast together with Yuki and Charles.

Today is my first day to go into office. Judy prepares a whole day orientation to show me all the detail of MUS office and life in the California. I need to encourage myself to hang in there in case I fall into asleep.

Lunch time, Ben invited Fernando and me to a Japanese restaurant. That's really funny that Ben told me Korean runs Japanese restaurant and most of Chinese restaurants are Mexican. The food there is still very good or it just because I was hungry?

The meeting in the afternoon is even hard to survive and I am glad that I won!! But now, I am really really very tired. On the way back to Charles' house, I could even not to keep myself awake. But I know, I need to hold it till 11PM. Then I can get away from the jet-leg as soon as possible.

Judy told me, my apartment will be ready tomorrow. I can see it tomorrow. But since the internet connection is not ready yet, I will keep on staying in Charles' place till Wednesday.

她說要睡到我回去



而且他昨天送我去機場的外衣已經脫下來被她珍藏 變成她的爸比(她有一個枕頭媽咪,一個衣服爸比)

因為那件衣服昨天有跟我抱抱

衣服不能洗 直到我回來 再抱另外一件



真可愛的姐姐

My daughter send me a bag of Osmanthus water

Tonight when I try to took the meal box from my daughter's backpack, I found a plastic bag with some water. It makes the backpack wet. I am curious why does she put a bag of water inside of her backpack. She told me with smile:"Dad, it's for you, Osmanthus water!" I am so surprised! My daughter, how does she know I like Osmanthus? It must be one week ago, when I was in the biz trip in China, I told her that when I walked on the street, time to time I can smell the flavor of Osmanthus. I love the flavor so much! And she remembers this. So when today she played around in the morning, she found the Osmanthus in the school. She stopped, and took some flowers from the tree. She found 2 bags because she thought that only one bag with water will leak. She put all the flowers in the first bag and fill with some water then she tied it up and put into another bag. Then she carefully put into her backpack and then she forgot what she've done completely until I found that bag which is put in the bottom of the backpack.

She is so lovely!!

I put all the water and the flowers in a bottle and then she learned. She knows next time, she will put all the flowers and water in a bottle without worry about the leakage problem. I can see she knew this from her eyes without saying anything.

Tonight is really a good night, isn't it?

TOEIC 成績公佈啦

考完之後，自己心裡雖然蠻篤定應該考得不錯
可是還是會有點在意到底考了多少
我記得當年我去遠傳面試的時候
英文的面試只有考75分
心裡覺得蠻怪的
我的英文一直以來在同儕之間都算好的
難道是我的幻覺嗎??

我記得前幾年我到歐洲出差的時候
經銷商沒有人相信我是土生土長的台灣人
沒有出過國唸書 也沒有從事過外銷的工作過 英文可以講成嚇嚇叫
去英國辦研討會 經銷商跟客戶也覺得很特別
甚至我們美國分公司的老闆還說我的英文是Queen's English

考試結果公佈之前，還特定打電話給心茹
她說 我們PM的水準是要到七百 滿分是九百九十分
我心想，天哪！這標準好像有一點點高耶
我會不會考不到啊？？

成績單到現在還是沒有收到
但是我怎麼知道的啊！
廢話，現在是什麼年代了，還在等成績單，那不是讓人望穿秋水嗎？

我看到心裡好高興耶!!
這大概是我自高中聯考的英文考以來最高的一次分數了耶!!

考TOEIC的心得

我之前沒有準備要怎麼考 也沒有去看考古題
反正就是有多少實力 就考幾分的心態

七月初的星期六一大早到公司來考(我們公司福利真的超好)
同事笑著說要坐在我旁邊或後面 看看能不能因此考得好一點 :-)

以下是我的心得

多益舊制分成兩大類 聽力測驗與閱讀測驗
聽力測驗分成四部份 第一部分看圖選答案 有點點陷阱 如果沒搞清楚 就有機會被騙了
第二部份到第四部份開始沒有圖
我就認為 對大多數人而言應該是比較難的 (我認為)
因為同樣的字 在不同的場合會有不同的意思
如果之前沒有接觸過 根本不知道在說什麼

比方說 有提到
When is the lead time for this order?

Lead 這個字的意思是領導 或是領先
order 可以說是命令 或訂購
對於我們公司的RD而言 Lead time 或許就會照字面翻譯成 領導的時間
所以整句有可能等於
何時是這個命令的領導時間?
然後會有些答案，如果腦袋瓜裡已經是這樣的想法 那麼答案是完全找不到的
因為根本就不合理

原來 這句話的意思是
請問這個訂單的交期要多久?

lead time 在商業用語中 是指交期 或是說可以出貨的時間
order 指的就是訂單

又比方說merger 這個單字 是指併購的意思
如果沒有用過這個單字 也沒有辦法回答問題的

還有一些題目是我光聽就覺得RD應該是沒有辦法回答的
可是實在是記不起來了 所以我認為還蠻難的
我的優勢是之前由於負責外銷業務 所以佔了點便宜
並且實際出國去出差，所以還能夠聽得懂

聽力測驗我的建議是
想辦法在題目開始之前的空檔把答案給看完
這樣聽起來比較有機會聽到keyword 並且正確作答
但是第四部份就不容易面對
一個題目要回答2-3題 題目看不完 如果繼續想看完題目
反而會錯亂 倒不如還是專心聽題目 然後再來小心作答


閱讀測驗難度比較低 但是題目考起來很有腦筋急轉彎的感覺
就是不一定能夠從文章中找答案 可能會有整合或是陷阱在裡面
仍舊必須要小心
